A tummy sleeper

So I thought I had the best baby ever when Tyse was first born. He was easy, predictable, great eater, great sleeper just over all low maintenance, unlike when Rylee was a baby. But then. . . the crying in the afternoon started and not sleeping at night and so on and so on. We found out that Tyse has acid reflux and kidney reflux, both of which Rylee had. So we got him on meds for both of those, and that seemed to help a little. Then I figured out I wasn't feeding him enough (great mom right), so I upped his food quantity. That seemed to help a little more, but he still wasn't sleeping through the night. I was talking to my friend Natalee about it and she told me that when her son learned to roll and sleep on his tummy, that's when he started sleeping through the night. Well up to this point Tyse loved to be swaddled, so that is how I would get him to sleep and then put him down. This worked great during the day but at night he would wake up every few hours and just want me to hold him until he would go back to sleep. So I decided to give Natalee's theory a whirl. The first night I went through our whole bed time routine and then just laid him on his back in his bed awake. He cried for 40min then rolled on his tummy and slept 12 hrs. The next night same thing but he only cried 10 min and slept 13hrs. Now sometimes he doesn't even cry at all and just goes right to tummy and sleep. I feel like a new women and I have my happy easy baby back. Thanks Natalee, I love you!! I am so glad my friends are good moms who can help me out!

Lisa I TOTALLY know where you are coming from. Although Carter was a mess from the start. I love him dearly but he never slept more than an hour or two at night so at about 4 weeks I put him on his stomach and he slept awesome. He loves his stomach and I have learned most babies do. I talked to his Pediatrician about it because it made me nervous to put him on his tummy so young but he wasn't too concerned and I was getting sleep, that was all that mattered. These babies are so sweet but it is definitely work trying to figure them out! Tyse is the cutest little thing!
